| Dan Pasternak Dan started Cambia Records
back in 1989 after his own group, Vital Signs disbanded. Vital Signs is most remembered
for their hit song "The Boys and the Girls are Doing It" which appeared in the
movie, Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure. But they also toured with Tina Turner,
Eric Martin, Joan Jett, Journey, and many other big name groups during the 80s.
"Its an experience everyone should have" Dan says. But behind the scenes
is where Dan always longed to be, producing other groups.
Dans thirst for technology coupled with his keyboard experience lead him
naturally to production and recording. When he opened the doors to his studio, one of his
first acts is now the popular rap group, Three Way Funk
he also produced country
artist, Deann Stanley, R and B artist, Robyn Derrick, and a string of local rock groups,
Riff Raff, Whiplash, and Mystic. Within a short time his production and composition skills
became notable in the San Francisco Bay Area and he became sought after for his skills by
other industry professionals.
In the early 1990s he began doing a lot of work for television, writing and producing
original compositions for childrens programs, commercials, jingles and films. His
schedule became so inundated with television and film work that it became difficult to
find time to juggle all the acts that were coming his way. So in 1999 he decided to scale
back just a bit on his television schedule to again devote time to artist development, an
expression he truly loves. "I love seeing it all happen for other people, and helping
them get a taste of the dream".

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Send a sample of your work, and any other information along with it that you would like
us to know about you. Our philosophy is that "less is more"
so make sure you send us your best stuff, and only information pertinent to who you are,
what youve done, and what you want to do.
Weve been in this business a long time, and we know there is all kinds of talent
out there. You dont need to explain the basics to us about how you got started, why
you started, and you dont need to tell us you won the battle of the bands in high
school. Were really interested in your playing experience, your musical education
and/or influences, and what youre doing now. Mostly, let your music speak for
itself.
Finally, if we dont accept you for any reason, dont take it personally, and
dont let it be an excuse to stop pursuing your dream. We are just one opinion in the
industry, and one company. We can only sign a few acts a year. We like pop, rock and jazz.
Weve produced rap, but feel closest to the first three. So were likely to do a
better job, and everyone will enjoy the experience more if were in sync
stylistically.
